Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

children chosing residence

I would like to know if there is an established age in Illinois, when children of divorce are able to chose which parent they want to live with. Would a judge consider the wishes of children younger than that age? We currently have joint custody, there is no child support involved.

A judge will listen to a child who is 14 years old. However the judge will not simply rely on the wishes of the child and will also look at other factors that might be involved.
