Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Contempt of Court

Hi,

I was wondering if you are required by court order to pay your ex's attorney fees by a certain date and you are short by about $400, can you still be held in contempt of court or can you get more time?

Re: Contempt of Court

Hello. In theory you could be held in contempt.

I suggests you go into court and ask for more time. Chances are good that the court will give you an extension. I will be happy to answer any

more questions that you have.
