Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I currently live in Kansas City Missouri. On August 24, 2010 the judge in our child custody case awarded Temporary Custody and Control of the two children to me along with leave to remove the children from the State of Illinois to the State of Missouri.

The Illinois courts still have jurisdiction over the case. I am not poor but, I am also not wealth and I recently had to release the services of my attorney and am now representing myself Pro-se.

My question is; Can my Father, who lives in the same location as my ex-wife act as my legal agent in filing petitions on my behalf? I know he cannot make my appearances for me but, not needing to travel to file the documents will save a ton of time, money and time off of work that it would otherwise take. If so is there a document that I need to file with the court giving him this ability, like a power of attorney and can I sign documents here and have them Notarized locally to be mailed to my father and filed with the county clerk's office?

He can do the act of handing your papers to clerk but he can not do anything more.
