Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am currently married with 3 minor children. If I leave the house on a temporary basis, moving into an apartment, what are the repercussions? Is this considered abandonment?

Depends. As the saying goes, every good push deserves a shove, and if you move out the next thing you know is that your spouse files for separate maintenance. Yes after a period of time absenting yourself your spouse, or you, will have legal grounds for a dissolution of marriage, but what do you mean "temporary"? And why? Too many open issues to be able to be more accurate. Sorry.
