I am in the middle of a divorce. What steps do I have to take to file an order of protection against my husband even if it is denied? I just want to get it on record.

A fool and her money are soon parted. File a petition in bad faith and watch the judge completely ignore your testimony the rest of the divorce process. It's called credibility, and the first to lose it in a divorce case, loses.
