Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

To stop spousal maintence

We were married for ten years and divorced for, now 10 years. She is living with another man and our son is living with me, he is 21 years old now. I have been paying alimony for this duration and want to know when I don't have to pay her anymore?

Re: To stop spousal maintence

Hello. In my opinion, alimony should

have stopped when your ex began living

with the other man. The judgment of

dissolution of marriage should outline

when alimony ends. Generally the

term alimony is not used. Maintenance

is the legal term used in the Illinois

Compiled Statutes. You should act

quickly and certainly you will need

to consult a lawyer about the judgment. Will be happy to discuss

this with you further and in more detail.
