Will I get in trouble if I don't have a lawyer at court hearing for child visitation

Unless you promised the judge that in exchange for a continuance, you would get a lawyer (In which case, you would likely get an admonishment) - no. It's your constitutional right to handle this without an attorney. Whether you succeed is a different matter, however.
