Legal Question in Immigration Law in Illinois

Here is the sequence of my Citizenship application process.

- March 9, 2009 - Attended interview

- Attended Citizenship interview - 07/07/2009

- Passed the Interview but officer asked for W2 and IT docs.

- Misplaced the notice of action and sent only the W2

- After 8 months denial letter came from USCIS stating I did not fullfill the docs requirement.

- June 15, 2010 Filled N-336 Request for hearing with $605 and the additional docs.

- USCIS received the doc and got letter from them today saying I did not appear for hearing on 19th July, 2010 per USCIS Notice to appear.

- Actually I did not receive any Notice to appear from USCIS, and I was available pretty much here in town and checked with US POst office. They dont have any pending letter for me from Dept of homeland.

Question1: What is the next step?

Question2: What if I ignore this totally for 20 days and later apply for Citizenship again? Can I apply later say after couple of years, nothing wrong with my character or any, just like that.

In all it just mis-communication and nothing more.

Thanks,

Bala

What 'Notice to Appear' did they send? To Immigration Court? To USCIS office?

What the letter from USCIS says exactly (denial letter)?

Do you have an attorney, or have you consulted one?

You need to consult an immigration lawyer, and fax or scan and email copies of all relevant documents for review before consultation.
