i entered a verbal contract over an idea of mine and the person took it patented it and claimed it for their own what can i do where do i go for help

How long ago was this agreement? It can take a long time for an invention to go from idea to patent and then to market. Are you just now finding out about this? Do you have any notesm correspondence, or anything else evidencing this oral contract? Was the oral contract for the development of the invention?
