Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

My company developed a system of fining employee's for phone calls that were not complying with their standards, but never gave us any rules. I complained about not having any guidelines, they refused to discus it, then doubled my fines. The calls in question are being monitored by an intern who has no field experience at all. What is my recourse?

In extremely limited circumstances, an employer can fine an employee for serious safety violations. However, this is not a recommended practice and doing this raises many other legal problems. Your employer's practice sounds unlawful. We would be happy to discuss your individual situation by phone.
