If your employer has denied you your paycheck you can definitely go to the Illinois Department of Labor and file a complaint. Sounds like a lousy situation and lousy employer. If you physically show up and they give you a hard time, however, time to smell the coffee (or McCafe I guess) and move on as quickly as you can considering you have a baby coming. Because you are apparently not being told if they have laid you off, fired you or what. See if they fire you they may be liable for unemployment insurance, but if you quit on your own they are not so they may be trying to force your hand. Or they may have benefits for moms they don't want to have to pay you, etc. Again the Illinois Department of Labor people should be able to help with some things.
