Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

My son (8 yrs old) qualified for a market research study for a taste test to be paid $100 only if he participates all 3 days. He was in a group of kids and there were other groups earlier than his. I was told it was 1 hour for 3 consecutive days. First night they went over by 15 minutes. Next night 1 hour and third night they finished near on time. I asked for him to be compensated for his additional time. Was ignored. Is he eligible to receive more? A bit more to the story also as the only contact we had was a rude receptionist and what he was given to eat gave him and other kids (heard from some of the other parents) sick. Stomach aches/diarrhea and not contaminated food like ecoli. Just too much of it and too much sugar given the fact this was their dinner. It was for a major food company but was done at a company that does food research but may have been the 1st time with kids.

Thank you for any info.

I assume that in order for your child to participate in the study, you, the parent, were required to sign the agreement on behalf of your minor child. You should re-read the agreement to review the terms, conditions and compensation requirements. I am guessing that once you review the terms of the agreement, you will find that they probably didn't violate any terms. Of course you can always write them a letter and tell them how disappointed you were with the way the study was run.
