Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Wrongful Termination

I was let go from my position as a Human Resources Director and Risk Manager for a transportation company at the end of May 2008. I was told my position was not working out and my position was eliminated. They also told Dept of Unemployment my position was eliminated. Two weeks after termination, they filled the exact same position with someone they knew. Do I have any recourse? I also have an email when they offered me the position with an annual salary. Does this constitute a year contract?
