Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

Landlord entering apartment with no notice

I moved from an apartment in 2006 because I had been walked in on by mainentance several times unannounced. One time I was in the shower, another time I was sleeping and they still walked around in my bedroom and fixed things, and the other time I was getting dressed and they walked in and saw me-all of me. I was absolutely horrified at all of this and brought it up to the manager several times and he kept blowing me off and treating me like I was a dumb woman. I felt very violated and have not been the same since - eg: sleeping with chairs under the door knobs, keeping covered up at all times inside and outside, if a man looks at me I start having panic attaks. Is there anything I can do about this to prevent it from happening to another tenant and to prevent them from thinking that was okay to do to me? Or is it null and void since I no longer live there?
