Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I moved into an apartment a month ago and since then have become engaged. However my fiance' is a convicted felon and I was contacted by my leasing office and told that they were contacted by the police in the city where I lived and notified that he would be living there and told me that he can not live there and if he is found to live there I would be evicted although there's nothing mentioned in my leasing agreement about occupants convicted of felonies. I contacted my leasing office again asked if I was allowed to add an occupant at which time I was told yes I could but not my fiance' because of his criminal record which again is not mentioned in my lease. I've only lived in my apartment for a month and I signed a 12 month lease which I would perfer not to break, however I'm getting married less than a month from now and I'm being told that my soon to be husband can't live there. Had I known this then I would have never signed a lease with them. My question is can they refuse my fiance' as an occupant although the terms were not included in the lease?
