Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

My 8 yr old daughter was diagnosed Bipolar/ADHD and goes to a special ed school. Today I informed the school therapist that my daughters meds were being increased. When I was leaving work at 5 pm, I found a voicemail on my cell from the school nurse, stating she found out about the med change and wanted to take my daughters blood pressure. The reading was 78 over 0. Now I'm no Dr., but any BP reading over 0 isn't right. I immediately paged our dr. leaving the info the nurse gave me. Within seconds, he called me, frantically asking about my daughter's well being. If her BP was that low, she shouldve been rushed to the ER. But the nurse sent her back to class and left me a voicemail. I am concerned that the nurse was completely negligent and am worried for the safety of our daughter.

I suggest that you immediately have your daughter taken to her doctor and also schedule a meeting with the school administration.
