Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

By settling a debt with a collector do I give up my rights too...

I'm wondering if I agree to pay a debt collector a medical bill by a settlement agreement to a lower sum and pay in full. Am I giving up my rights to persue a lawsuit for medical negligence? thanks for any advice.

The answer to your question is "No." More importantly, if you believe that you have a claim for medical negligence, you should consult with an attorney immediately. There are very strict statutes of limitations which will prevent you from ever filing a lawsuit if you do not do so in time. I can offer you a free consultation and help you get to an expert attorney if you actually do have a case.
