Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

I have an almost 7 yr old son who is autistic. He attends public school and has been in the same one for three years now. This year he trasitioned from special ed into kindergarten and recieved a personal aid. He is currently in his 3rd full week of school and has to date had five injuries. Yesterday I requested a meeting with the special ed coordinator, 2 of his teachers and the principal. They reported that they did not believe his number of injuries were extensive although at least one has caused a scar. Today I was notified by the school nurse that he fell and "bumped" his chin. He would not allow ice to be applied but it was fine. She asked if I wanted to check on him. I stated that if he was ok it was understandable but if it was more serious than to let me know. He arrived home 4 hours later with a large gash in his chin and literally had facial fat hanging out of it. I immediately took him to the ER where he recieved stitches and mediation for infection since the wound was open for so long. Is there anything I can do about these extensive injuries?

Your priority needs to be on developing a better communucation system with the school. It sounds that you may be entitled to some compensation for the injuries received. clearly the supervision by the school is inadequate and changes need to be made immediately.
