Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Battery

My husband was at a local health club playing basketball when another member punched him in the face. He recvd 12 stiches and at this point, 3wks later, his upper lip appears disfigured. Should we hire a lawyer or just sue in small claims court. Does the health club have any liability in this situation?

Whether to hire an attorney or pursue this as a small claims is up to you. If there is disfigurement, small claims seems inadequate. At this point there are not enough facts provided to determine whether the health club has any liability.
