Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Is it legal or ethical if a judge was on your case for discovery on a personal injury case retires and Three years later comes back to arbitrate/mediate the case.

There is nothing illegal nor unethical about a retired judge to seat as an arbitrator/mediator on a case that was previously pending in his or her courtroom.
