Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Malicious prosecution/domestic violence

I was married to a brutal abuser for more than 20 years. In the six years since our divorce, he has filed a series of frivolous lawsuits against me. Typically, he establishes probable cause by lying and generally he makes contradictory statements in his suits.

I have always prevailed by having the suits dismissed or coming to an agreement that doesn't compromise my position. Malice is in his demanding money from me to drop his suits and continuing to abuse me by harrasing me in this manner. The result of all this litigation is that I have spent more than $20,000 to protect myself and I now have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and am under a doctor's care for other stress-related diseases. His attorneys really should have known better than to file affidavits with conflicting statements and to file the same case again after it has been dismissed with prejudice since all the cases were filed in the same court. My attorney's fees have never been reimbursed.

Any help in suggesting an appropriate attorney in Illinois would be appreciated as he files the suits in Illinois and I live 800 miles away.

Under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 137, frivolous pleadings are improper and can subject the pleader to sanctions, including an order to pay the opponent's attorney's fees. Feel free to call me if you want to talk to an attorney in Illinois. Larry Stein, (630) 221-1755.
