Pain and suffering Dog Bite

I was bit by a dog delivering a newspaper for my daughter,

who was sick. I went into a customers driveway and their dog

came out & bit my leg. I filed a report and went to the

hospital. This is the 2nd time dog was loose. Owner finally

called me back & told me to leave copies of bills in her

mailbox. Others told me to get a lawyer, so the insurance

company would pay me pain and suffering in add. to the

bills. I feel entitled to this since I gave up two weeks of

my life to be in pain and will now have scars. I also have

minimal feeling in back of my knee due to nerve damage. Do I
