Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Personal injury award, lawyer percentage,BEFORE or AFTER medical and legal bills

My question is this.

Does my attorney receive his percentage{33.3%},before all the bills are paid(med, and legal)?OR would his percentage come from what was left, after medical and legal fees had been paid?

Thanks for any info.

The fee the attorney charges and on what amount, should be spelled out in the contract signed. You should look to that for the information you need. However, generally, the fee comes out from the gross amount recovered and before any costs, or doctor bills have been deducted.

I hope this helps,
