Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

tampering/food

burger at restaurant contained a pill. I have had a major stroke and my husband and dopughter had to watch me very closely during the night to see that I did not have a reaction and have to go to the hospital. Policedreprt done. My stroke is 1/2 inch from my brain stem, anything that could make me start bleeding again (including getting too stressed),could cause my death. Manager at store did not chec workers, nor did the police dept.go to the store to check employees. The only information received from the insurance company was''Have I had any reactions'' The terror that my family and I went thru because of this incompetency by the restaurant and police dept is unbeleivable. The rest of the pill that I had not injested was sent to the State crime lab, but the response was that it was not a controlled substance, nothing else. We specifically asked to have the pill IDENTIFIED. Is there a law that can hold them responsible for the extreme fear and possibility of injury or death caused by this incident? The implication was that I put the pill in the food. I'm 61 years old ,disabled by my stroke ,and take at least 10 different pills a day to help my stroke symptoms. I am absdolutely furious with this restaurant and police.

Re: tampering/food

Food tampering cases are extremely difficult. Assuming that what you say is accurate, there would be a cause of action against the restaurant or possibly their food supplier. Good luck
