Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Order of Possession

My step daughter was served an Order of Possession for failing to pay her association dues. Does this mean she looses possession (cannot live in the condo) but retains ownership?

If so, she is looking to sell the condo. What are her options after the Order of Possession has been invoked?

Thanks,

Re: Order of Possession

Hello. The order of possession means that the

Court has granted the Condo Association permission to evict your step daughter from her

condo unit. This is tricky since she does have

equity in the unit. Her best bet is to seek to

have the order vacated and pay the association

dues once she sells her condo. She needs

legal representation. Hope my answer helps.
