Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Warranty Deed Protection

I have a warranty deed from a relative for property with a home on it. She is in failing health and others in my family want to get their hands on this property upon her death. The deed conveys and warrants the property to me alone. She has a life estate on this property.

My question is: Can she will this property to others upon her death even though I have the warranty deed with my name on it exclusively without my permission?

Re: Warranty Deed Protection

If you have a deed and the relative has a life estate, the only thing the relative could do would be to convey her life estate. That's her only interest. In other words she could give me her life estate and I could have the property until she dies, but then it reverts to you.
