My husband hit someone and is to appear in court. The person that was in the car with him is being asked to appear as well. Does he have to? My husband got two tickets and a appearing in court.

If he does not appear many things could happen depending on the kind of case this is -- civil or criminal. I assume criminal since you mention "tickets" but otherwise you give too little information to be helpful so he should take the tickets and see an attorney because if this is a criminal matter eventually he could be arrested if he ignores the court processes.

I agree with the above response. Your husband definitely needs to consult with an attorney. It is not clear what you mean by the person in the car with him is "being asked" to appear in Court. Who is "asking"? If you are talking about a civil case brought by the other driver, then it is possible that your husband's insurance carrier will provide legal counsel. But if yor husband has been summoned to Court, then either he or his attorney, or both, will need to appear.
