Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
pulled over on suspended license
I have a court date on December 6th for being pulled over twice on a suspended license. I didn't show up at my last court date because I had the dates mixed up. Do I need a lawyer? I'm 19 and can't afford one

Re: pulled over on suspended license
Driving on a suspended license is a Class A misdemeanor with a possible penalty of up to 364 days in jail and a fine of up to $2500. When you miss court for one of these cases it is not unusual that a warrant be issued for your arrest. Given that situation you are best off to have an attorney with you. If you wish to discuss this further send an email to shestokas@aol.com. Good luck.

A "DWLS" is a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in the county jail and $2500 fine. If that isn't serious enough to get your attention and interest you in hiring a lawyer, I don't know what would be. Feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss further. And Good Luck!
