Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Need to get ticket dismissed or get supervision

I just got my lisence back after getting it suspended for 2 tickets in 24 months,I got the suspension lifted so i could start working again. This past weekend i was pulled over for doing 75 in a 55,I was doing closer to 65,but I know even that is 10mph over. The officer told me that if I pay the $75 fine I would only get 3 months probation,I called to confirm it and they said he was wrong.I can`t have this ticket on my record,or else I`1l just get it suspended again, and I really need my lisence,I`m not a bad driver,I don`t drink or get in accidents.I want to know what I can do to keep my lisence again, this really upsets me,I was doing a favor for a friend by picking something up for him and this is what I got for it.I had 1 ticket on my record because i got one vacated to get that suspension lifted, and now I`m back to where I started! Can anyone help me?

Re: Need to get ticket dismissed or get supervision

I presume that the ticket you had vacated had the conviction vacated and an order of supervision entered. If that is the case, then you need an additional supervision which sometimes can be obtained with other types of dispositions including traffic safety school or a substantial fine. There is also the possibility of pleading not guilty depending upon the facts of the case. Also, you did not say where you got this current ticket. That also has an impact in that some counties are more lenient than others. In any event you should not approach this problem without counsel, as you will be suspended again if it is not handled properly. You may contact me directly if you wish at 630-243-0099.

I read the response posted by David Shestokas and he is absolutely right on the money! Depending upon the location where you received the ticket it may be possible to avoid a conviction on your record. I too handle matters such as this in a variety of Illinois counties, so you may call me for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822 if you desire. Good luck.
