Re: deceased credit card

Surviving children are not personally liable, but mother's estate is liable. Assets held in mother's estate, including real estate, may be used to satisfy mother's (now the estate's) debts. If and when a probate estate is opened, there are procedures in place for determining and disposing of any claims against the estate and paying them from estate assets before distribution to beneficiaries.
