Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Life estate/ home owners insurance

When my Dad passed away, he gave his 2nd wife Life Estate.

She is responible for paying the taxes, keeping up maintance and paying the homeowners insurance.

The children own the house, do they have a right to receive a copy of the homeowners insurace policy to make sure that the house is properly insured year after year?

Or does the law require that the owners of the home receive a copy of the homeowners insurance policy?

Re: Life estate/ home owners insurance

The children would definitely have an interest in being sure that the home is insured.

The insurance company should provide a copy of the policy and payment record.

Good luck to you.
