Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

lost attorney for will

my father died this last month and left a will which i have a copy but i can not find the original. how can i find the attorney who filed out the will. i have tryed every way i know to find them but to no luck . is there any listing that i can use to find them. the names were Giachini, Murphy and Mann and the will was filled out August 7 1981. there is a receipt for the will stating that the attorney will deliver the will to the depositor at any time but i cant find them. if the firm went out of business would the county have the records?

any help would be nice

The circuit clerk's office in your county may have some idea. You could also try contacting the county bar association. One last suggestion, look at www.iardc.org which has a listing of all attorneys who were ever licensed in Illinois. It will tell you if they are still in practice, retired, or deceased. It even lists Abraham Lincoln, so it is a fairly complete listing. Good luck.
