Does a power of attorney allow someone to appear in court in their behalf??

No. To appear in court for another person, even another person who has signed a power of attorney in your favor, you have to be admitted to practice law by the court. The use of the word "attorney" in "power of attorney" really means an "agent." Larry Stein.

Only a lawyer can represent someone in court. Depending on the case, you may be able to stand next to the lawyer in court.
