power of attorney dies

My friend has past on, he had power of attorney over his mother, who is in nursing home with alzheimers, who has power of attorney now?

The person now authorized to act as agent("attorney in fact") would be the one named as successor agent in the Power of Attorney declaration. If no successor was chosen by your friends mother than a court(Gaurdianship)must now determine,as it appears she no longer has capacity to do so.
