Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

power of attorney's, wills

At the time of my husband's death, I made out poa's for (health and financial) for my mother in law and two stepsons. I also made a will entitling them to my property and possessions. This was a mistake!! I have been told that in order to revoke the poa's, I just write a letter stating that and send it to the agent, and request for any copies to be sent to me. I do have the original poa's, and the will. And to revoke the will, I destroy it?

Thank you for your time.
