Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

Cause, or Not for cause

Can a company terminate you for cause if their reason was because you did not meet your sales quota even tough your territory was up 12% after your first year, and 26% in the first quarter of your second year?

Re: Cause, or Not for cause

The term Workers Compensation relates to injuries sustained while at work.

Under Workers Compensation, employers are required to make provisions such that workers who are injured in accidents arising "out of or in the course of employment" receive medical treatment and receive payments ranging up to roughly two-thirds of their wages to replace lost income and an award for the permanency of any injury.

The question that you asked seems to pertain to "Employment".

I am not an employment expert but I could provide some basic information - however, I need to know in what context you mean "for cause". Did you apply for unemployment and it was denied because you were fired for "cause" or did you have an employment contract that you feel the employer breached?

Please advise,

Matt Belcher
