Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in India

Is Contempt Case

A Government Department has supported a manipulated Exhibit in the Trial Court in 1988 in respect to a property case. This case was awarded against the Defendant as the evidence is insufficient to prove the claim of the Defendant.

Later in 2001 when a Writ was filed in the High Court to produce the documents as per the manipulated exhibit, that Government Department has misled the High Court by saying that the records are still in the Trial Court, They kept on saying without filing a counter for six years or a single material paper.

Finally the Hon'ble judge of the High court unable to accept further delay directed the trial court to give the records as per the exhibit.

The point to be noted that the records are not was requested as per the Writ. The Government Department has misled the high court by saying that the records are same as per the writ.

The appeal period is over now.

My question now is that

Can we go for a contempt case directly on the same subject now praying that the records in the trial court are not the same as per records requested as per writ
