Legal Question in Banking Law in India

Lost Credit Card

Some one stole my card, in an foreign country . Within 10-15 minutes of the card loss, i filed an FIR in the nearest Police Station. Within next 30 minutes, i have reported the loss of my card with my bank in India nd got my card hotlisted. After 10 days when i checked my statemnts, there are transactions that i have not done. Now bank is asking me to pay the amount. I have disputed stating to show the charge slip. I am sure these charge slips will not have my signature. What are my solutions and rights?

Re: Lost Credit Card

You may follow the herein mentioned advice.

(1) Demand charge slips from the Bank.

(2)The credit cards are insured to a specific amount so you can always dispute the payment and rest of the things Credit Card Company will take care of the dispute.

In case if the Credit Card company does not solve the matter and pressurize you to pay then you may file a complaint in the consumer forum.

In case of need please contact with the details.

Professional charges are applicable.

Re: Lost Credit Card

Wait for the bank to show charge slips to you.

Also, these days all credit cards are insured to a specific amount. You can dispute the payment and the credit card company will take care of the same.

If everything fails, file a complaint in the consumer forum (after notice to the bank to the effect) depending upon terms and conditions of the credit card.

Re: Lost Credit Card

Demand the charge slips. If they don't and persist in demanding amounts you have not charged on the card, file a complaint to the Banking Ombudsman of your State,if you don't receive a favourable response from the chief executive of the card issuing bank.
