i want to publish an ancient indian classic on intenet.
for that what are the legal procedures i have to take?did i need any copywrite for that?its an ancient classic written thousend years back...so if need any copywrite,how can i obtain that?

Whatever you would be creating, though based on an ancient indian classic, is a creation in which Copyright exists. Therefore, you can have the same registered, if you wish.
