arrogant behaviour of society members.

i am staying in mahavir sadhana soc in navimumbai.our building has 7f and i am on 1stf.society members wants a back up generator.we are not ready for the expenditure but they are forcefully imposing this on people staying on 1st and 2nd fls.we are ready to pay this amt but we want the operating cost should be according to flour rise but they are not ready to accept this also .can we take some legal action against the chairman of soc?

I would advise you to co-operate with other members as it will be good for the society I guess.

You should avoid litigations at this point of time.

You may need to raise the issue in the general body meeting; if the decision is illegal, you may challenge the same before the Registrar of Cooperative Societies; and later in the civil courts.
