legal defence against 138 N.I. Act

Sir, A person has send me a legal notice from court for dishouner of Cheque, but i have not given any cheque to him, i enquired from bank, the entry is reflecting dshonour. what i have to do. i think he has taken this cheque from someone else.my mom was having financial delaing with them but mom also told that she as not given my cheque to him. as estimate mom has to give him 1.2 lakh which she told him that she will arrange in a month or two.In the notice he mentioned that i have taken friendly loan from him for 6.5 Lakh, which i have not taken from anyone. what can i do against it. please help

You might have received "summons" from the court, possibly alongwith a copy of the complaint and the 'summoning order'.

It may be required to 'inspect' the court file, engage an Advocate, and file your defence.
