if a complaint is lodged against any husband regarding dowry harassment case after 11 years of marriage how long the case can be kept by not doing fir, or can it be changed by police anytime.

Usually, the F.I.R. should be registered immediately after receipt of complaint and the police should start investigation.

there is a limitation period of three years and filing a complaint after 11 years may not sustain.
