Harassment

Ours is love marr n in-laws agreed to accept us after traditional remarr. Since 1.25 yr I am being mentally n physically harassed. My salary is demanded. Also my jewellery n gifts are in their custody. My health is ignored n now expeled to my parents place since I'm preg n not capable for doing household chores. What legal actions can I need to take? I want to punish them.

File a Domestic violence Case against your inlaws and also for harrasment under 498A.

I would advise you to file a DV case against your in laws.

I would also advise you to file a complaint u/s. 498-A to teach them a lesson but first consult a lawyer to make a strategy.

You or your parents/brother/sister may immediately approach the police u/s 498-A and 406 IPC for appropriate action and for return of your 'istridhan'.

You may also be entitled to action under 'domestic violence laws'.

I think that the punishment is the harsh action and it is the ultimate step so at first you may file a case under domestic violence act.
