My cousin sister was having affair with amuslim boy. In 2004 she wrote on the court paper that she is his wife from a particular date in 2004 in absence of any kind of witness from her side as well iin the absence of any lawyer .They both were adults. After that their relation became bitter .Now when she has walked out of that relation she is blackmailed nd harrashed by that guy.He is blackmailing her that she has to sign a divorce or he wil move to court. My question is whether that kind of marriage is legal or it is just a fake marriage which he just created so that he can harash her in future.My other question is whether she can get married to any other guy without any such divorce as that would cause her social embarassment also .

The marriage on stamp paper can be ended by divorce on stamp paper and the marriage is binding only between the parties and invalid in law.

The marriage is not valid.

She may entitled to marry a person of her choice, without going through divorce, if the first marriage was not 'legally performed'.
