Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

hi, we are 7 tenants staying with our family since 50 years, the landlord gave the property for redevelopment in 1994, without our consent or any letter or any paper work, and the pathetic thing is the re-developer neither redevelop the property nor giving us the freedom to develop our houses, as the property is near to the station, so the developer has loss to built three floors only, he did not wanted to built this place, on 07.01.2010 big tree name junglee ashopalav the height of that tree was of nearby 3 floors, was fall at our houses in midnight at 3 clock, all of us was slept that time, suddely that tree was collapsed on our houses, after that we some how tries to maintain our houses, but the developer did not allowed to do the same, in fact that time we came to know that the landlords (who has partnership of 2 brothers and mother) mother and 1 brother had sold their rights and 2nd brother had sold his 75% rights to re-developer, now he is the owner of that property (as per re-devloper words) he continually sends police to charges us by saying that illegal construction, even if today we do some thing for our home say outside repairing, painting, anything he continually harrasing us, by saying that he is the owner we have to obtain permission from him to even thing before for anything repairing, what is this?? is this right??? can landlord do this??? yes out of 7 tenant 3 has rent receipt other did not have any proof of residency since 70 years, can the developer hold his developing work since so many years, developer saying that he will provide the area at flat which is now we having, whereas we are demanding of area as per govt rule of 325 sf area, then stop taking to us, please guide???? how to get relief from this problem??? any act any rule ......
