Legal Question in Legal Ethics in India

I am drawing a consolidated salary of rs. 16000/p p.m from a elderly person (aged 84). I am taking it by way of cheque only. In what way I should protect myself against any legal problems in case of sudden demise of the person .

Should I have a letter stating that she is paying me or what else should I have ??

Please help me regarding this

As long as Bank is not informed about the demise, your cheque will be cleared.
