i looked after my parents and paid for their care, my brother hadn't spoken to my parents for 30 years or so before their death, they left me their property but without is will, can my brother claim a share, i am a sikh from punjab

If you can prove that your brother had deserted your parents and they also discarded him then you will be entitled to the whole property otherwise your brother will also get equal share.

in case there is no will, your brother is having an equal claim in the same even if he did not speak to his parents for 30 years or did not take care of them. however, you may claim the money that you spent on your parents towards medical expenses, in case it is a substantial amount.

Your brother may be entitled to a share as per law of succession governing father or mother owning the property.
