Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Respected Sir,

My querry is against the government valuation against registry of property:

1. Sir, the cost of new construction in our area of any building today is Rs. 400-500 per sq feet. Is it justified that for registration purpose govt value it to rs.1100/= per sq ft.

2. Should there be not any difference between new construction and old one?

If my view is coorect, what remedy is available to me and how?

regards

vikas

You may challenge the official valuation as arbitrary and unreasonable if the same is not based upon established norms. You may consider filing a writ petition in the High Court of your State under Articles 226 of the Constitution of India.
