Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

Legal Heir Certificate

My father was working in Bangalore when he was alloted a BDA site. He passed away few years ago intestate. We (Mother & my brother) then shifted to Andhra pradesh to grandparents house. Now we intend to transfer the property to my mother's name by submitting the death certificate. However they have asked for the family tree chart/legal heir certificate. Please let us know since we have shifted out of bangalore some 15 years ago and now reside in Andhra, should the application be submitted to the MRO/Taluk office in Andhra or in Bangalore where my father worked and lived? The only property to be transferred to my mother are the BDA site and a Apartment Flat.

Your assitance will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Legal Heir Certificate

You may need to make an application with the office of the area where the property is situated irrespective of your place of residence.

However, you may want to contact the BDA office for appropriate guidance.
