Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

Hi sir...i want to ask that i have a house...my father in law is alive...but my husband is not alive...my father in law gave his house to my husband (I mean registry is in my husband's name)...but when my husband died...registry is now my name...then my father in law daughter claims (my sister in law) that she wants a share in this house...does she have any right to claim ???my father in law lives in ashram... Pls reply sir

if the property of your father in law is self acquired and he voluntarily given it your husband she can not claim.

The only thing you have to verify is if the property is self acquired property of your father in law. If so, your sister in law cannot make any claim in the property.

On the other hand if the property came from the ancestors of your husband (like his grandfather etc.) then your father in law could not have given the entire property to his son (your husband). In such a case, your sister in law will have the right in the property.
